🚫What not to do when you visit (logan paul)🚫

This is probably not as relevant anymore however, after recent events I thought I should mention this at least once. Im going to write this in 2 parts as Logan Pauls visit to Japan was extremely troubling.

In early January, I was in the UK and the first thing on my phone when my flight landed in Japan was “Logan Paul films dead body in Japanese suicide forest”.

I wasn’t surprised to be quite honest.

In past visits to Japan and before the incident in the forest, Logan Paul has posted pictures like these,

This behaviour, aside from the suicide forest incident, is extremely disrespectful to begin with. It enforces a stereotype that foreigners are dumb and cannot respect Japanese culture and proving right those who believe foreigners should not come to Japan anymore. (If you quickly look up on Japanese history, you will find that one point in time, Japan closed off itself completely from the outside world, cutting off all trade and communication with foreign countries*.) It is common sense, anywhere you go, that you do not dance around in temples, you don’t wear appropriating costumes in public (especially places of worship and respect) and you do not take off your trousers (basically expoing yourself) in public.

*(It would have been very easy for Logan Paul to do a quick history check for Japan and find out why there are so many temples and why Japan closed itself off for a while. If you have a few minutes to spare, watch this: https://youtu.be/Mh5LY4Mz15o )

As someone who meets and are friends with people from other countries, especially white people, I think this is a massive let down for them. This is ridiculously insensitive behaviour that we just should not be getting used to. People like Logan Paul are insanely out of touch with society and is disappointing to realise that millions of younger children look up to him and listen to every word that comes out of his mouth.

Things to be aware of in Japan:

I don’t think enough foreigners understand that when you are visiting a country, you are a representative of your country and your race.

I understand that language barriers are tricky, but there are many ways to work around it. Google translate, despite it not being 110% accurate, it will help you get your message across to the person.

“Mucho Brokeno”.Screen Shot 2018-02-14 at 13.51.24.png

The poor man is already stressed enough with a strange white man screaming in his store, but is being disrespected without him even knowing and also did Logan Paul get the mans permission for his face to be on millions and millions of screens? probably not considering he the fact that he is making fun of the man. I quickly put into google translate “The game seems to be broken” something I am sure Logan would have said if in America. This would have been something very appropriate to show the man and not make fun of him for not understand a foreign language.Screen Shot 2018-02-14 at 13.53.34.png

Another example where Logan Paul was being unnecessarily rude to store staff:

The lady says “How many?”, referring to the number of people Logan was with as they are standing right in front of a restaurant door. And he jokingly responds “How many what? Subscribers?” and points at her face. And the woman looks quite angry when he does this.

Do not disrespect Law enforcement in any country for any reason what so ever.

Logan, dressed as Pikachu, threw a Pokeball at a police officer. You can see in the picture (it is a bit blurry but) the police officer is clearly taken aback by this. I highly doubt he would have done this in America, so please do not do it here.

Please be aware of the kind of behaviour that is expected when you are visiting Japan, or any other country. If you are doing things you would not do in your own country, please do not do it in my country.
